A FRESH TASTE WITH LOCAL PEACE OF MIND

Marybelle

A Flower Among the Ashes - Marybelle

Marybelle is a company created in the aftermath of perhaps the worst run of livestock diseases that Great Britain has ever seen. Agriculture has been the heart of the United Kingdom for so many centuries and played such an important part of not only countryside preservation but also the Tourism industry that employs a large percentage of the UK's population.

BSE and FMD (Foot & Mouth disease) created a massive drain effect on British Agriculture tarnishing the reputation of arguably the best quality food source in the world. Farm gate prices have plummeted over the past decade to record lows, while the cost of production has been on the rise. Many farm operations are barely breaking even let alone making a profit worthy of the effort invested in day-to-day farming.

In order to turn the tide on this downward spiral, the Strachan Family of Rendham, Suffolk also the founders of Marybelle began planning to diversify in a way that could preserve and enhance not only the Rendham herd of Pedigree Holstein cows but also provide confidence, education and a high quality fresh dairy product to the local community. Planning for the development of Marybelle started in the early part of 1999 and it was officially opened for business on the 9th of March 2002. Slowly but surely we are gathering a large and loyal customer base and with continued growth throughout 2003 will ensure that our cows have the best care we can provide, while maintaining the already high standards for our Marybelle products.
